"This hotel is a bit older, however, it is very clean. We've stayed at other hotels on the ocean and normally, it seems like a continuous battle to keep the elevators and carpets dry and odor free (musty), however, the cleaning staff here does an excellent job of both. Not only clean but dry so theres no musty odors. We had a full kitchen which was great! It is located at the opposite end of Atlantic Ave. away from all of the craziness of downtown and all that brings which is good if you are travelling with children. The entire staff, especially Larry, were extremely helpful and nice. They have a small snack bar where you can buy breakfast and lunch. Its only open until 2:30 which was a disappointment. If you want to venture to downtown there is a trolly that will take you for about $1.35 pp. Cheaper than a rental car!! The pool slide was a big hit. The scheduled activities arent really great for teens at the time we were there, but, for small children appropriate. We would stay here again."

"I took my 2 children to Sun Viking Lodge a few weeks ago. We stayed for 2 weeks. I used to go down there every summer in my younger days. And I wanted to share the same great experience with my kids that i had. This was the first time I was able to get back down there again in a bit over 25 years. Last time I was there they didnt have the tower. My kids LOVED it at Sun Viking Lodge. Thank you to the great staff that work there. Barbara, Charlie, Bob. and to all the rest of you for your great hospitality. We drove all the way from LAS VEGAS. And God willing will be back there again next summer hopefully for 3 weeks this time. This is a GREAT FAMILY HOTEL. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK SUN VIKING STAFF AND OWNERS BARARA AND GARY!!! See you next summer!!!! THE LODGES"

"Spent several years there,2002 to 2008, have'nt been there since Aug 08, during Tropical storm Faye. Last 2 years been spending vacations in other places closer to home, and i am halfaway through my vacation now and realizing what is missing....SUN VIKING LODGE. Planning my trip for 2011 as we speak, no other palce measures up. What 's up DAYTONA!!!!!!! SEE YOU SOON, MISSING THE GOOD TIMES!!"

"Sun Viking Memories Reflecting back over the years I realize that the Sun Viking Lodge has played an integral part in shaping the way we vacation as a family. My wife and I first starting coming to the Sun Viking a couple of years after we were married, approximately 30 years ago, when my in-laws decided to pay for a room for their kids (my wife & four brothers) & spouses in Daytona Beach. From there, the rest is history. As I flash back through the years I can still picture these scenes in my mind… -My son playing basketball rain or shine, while trying to avoid the ball hitting cars parked close to the playing area. -My mother-in-law intensely studying her BINGO card in hopes of winning a mug or towel. -My daughter’s expression when her fiancé (now husband) took a military leave and made a surprise visit while she was sunbathing by the outside pool. -The enjoyment on my wife’s face as she plays with the grandkids in the pool or on the shuffle board court. -The troll that I received as a birthday gift from the office staff a few years back. (I still have the troll) -The face painting, hair braids, and all of the family friendly games and activities. The Sun Viking has become a part of our heritage passed down from generation to generation. When we mention to our grandkids that we are going to Florida, they automatically think of the Sun Viking because…to them, Florida is the Sun Viking and the Sun Viking is Florida. I want to extend our heart-felt appreciation to Frank, your kids, and the entire Sun Viking staff for making my family a part of your family. Each time we return we feel like we are coming home. I look forward to seeing you all once again next weekend."

"I have been going to the Sun Viking Lodge for 5 years. Last year in July we went July 4th weekend and went to the Daytona Nascar race. It was a blast and we plan on going July 4th weekend again this year. The people there are very kind. We make new friends everytime we go. The employees are also nice. We feel safe everytime we go."
